Kathy A. (Delmotte)
Troxel
April 11, 2026
Kathy A. (Delmotte) Troxel, of Red Lion, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the age of 64.
Born in Lancaster on February 2, 1962, she was the daughter of Betty J. (Miller) Delmotte of Manheim and the late Michael G. Delmotte. Kathy was a proud graduate of West Hempfield High School, Class of 1979, having completed her studies a year early. While she took great pride in that accomplishment, she often spoke about how much she missed the time she would have had with her classmates and friends. Following high school, she spent a brief time living in Florida before returning to the area, where she worked at Lauxmont Farms. Most recently, she worked as an editor for EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. in Hunt Valley.
Kathy had a deep love for horses, especially her time spent barrel racing. She enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was camping with family and friends or simply taking in the quiet of nature. More than anything, Kathy had a way of making people feel at home. Her door was always open, and over the years she welcomed many into her home, offering them a place to stay, and steady encouragement when they needed it most. She had a nurturing spirit and a generous heart, and she naturally became a second mom to many of her children’s friends as they were growing up. Kathy loved deeply and freely, and her kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Kathy is survived by her son, Derek W. Love of Windsor; her daughter, Amanda B. Troxel of Red Lion; her grandchildren, Adrianna L. Flora, Ashton M. Flora, Linkin E. Hickman, and Jackson R. Hickman, all of Red Lion, and Orion P. Love and Ares D. Love, both of Mt. Wolf; her sister, Kimberly D. Delmotte of Frankford, Delaware; and two very dear friends, Beth Hilferty and Diane Grafton.
Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Kathy’s love for the wild horses of Assateague, the family kindly asks that donations be made to: Assateague Island Wild Horses – Assateague Island Alliance
