Kenneth Eugene Blackburn, Sr., age 83, of Delta, died on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Elsie Marie (Brown) Blackburn, whom he married on May 28, 1988.
Born on September 27, 1941, in Bel Air, Maryland, Ken was the son of the late John Wilson Blackburn and Margaret (Liang) Blackburn. A dedicated and hardworking man, he spent the majority of his career in maintenance with Harford County Public Schools and was also a skilled plumber by trade.
Ken was known for his love of the outdoors and hands-on work. He especially enjoyed maintaining and operating his farm tractor, taking walks, and cherishing time spent with his family. He was a faithful member of Dublin Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his devoted wife, Ken is survived by his children: Kenneth E. Blackburn, Jr. (wife, Nancy) of Troy, VA; Regina A. Barnes of Glen Burnie, MD; Kevin L. Blackburn (wife, Tonya) of Schuyler, VA; Annette M. Blackburn of Louisa, VA; Denise S. Dabney of Gordonsville, VA; and Roger A. Blackburn of Schuyler, VA. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers, David Liang (wife, Chris) of Florida and Curtis Blackburn (wife, Lou) of Jarrettsville, MD; his sisters, Margaret Hudler (husband, Ady) of Forest Hill, MD, and Norma Evans of Bel Air, MD; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his former wife and close friend, Jean Ann Blackburn of Louisa, VA. Ken was preceded in death by his children, Allen Blackburn and Donna Blackburn, and several siblings.
A viewing for Ken will take place on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, beginning at 9:30 am at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA 17314. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 am, officiated by Pastor Jim Parks of Dublin Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will take place in Highview Memorial Gardens, 3433 Fallston Road, Fallston, MD 21047. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, is assisting the family with arrangements on behalf of Harkins Funeral Home.
The family kindly requests that all attendees wear respectful "Sunday Attire" in honor of Ken's life and memory.
