Kenneth Cecil Tompkins, formerly of Red Lion, entered into rest on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home, at 9:19 am at the age of 84.
He was born in High Rock on October 29, 1933 and was the son of the late William C. and Linnia S. (Strawbridge) Tompkins. He was a machinist at the former Davie-Donn Products and was a volunteer with the Red Lion Ambulance Association. Cecil was a long time and very active member of the Guinston Presbyterian Church for over 65 years.
He has three sons, Kevin M. Tompkins (Robin) of Airville, Keith T. Tompkins (Wendy) of Red Lion and Kent W. Tompkins (Tina) of Dallastown and a daughter, Karen E. Leiphart (Brian) of Red Lion. He was the grandfather of eleven grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He has numerous nieces and nephews. Cecil was preceded in death by 7 siblings.
Viewing will be on Friday, November 24th, from 9-10 am at Guinston Presbyterian Church, 14130 Guinston Forge Road, Airville, PA. A Service of Honor and Praise for Cecil will begin at 10 am at the church with his pastor, Rev. Daniel R. Moore officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
