Larry R. DeVor, Sr., of Stewartstown, went from life to Life Eternal on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 2:45PM at Wellspan York Hopsital at the age of 82. He was the husband of Catherine May (Schwinn) DeVor, to whom he married in November of 1972. Born on March 7, 1939 in Hampden, MD, he was the son of the late Harold Keefer and Adleda (Brinton) DeVor. Larry worked for Embassy Dairy in Baltimore and eventually retired after working as an auto mechanic for several autobody shops. In addition to raising his chickens, Larry loved all animals and could practically fix anything given to him; he was a talented mechanic. He enjoyed working around his home and will be missed dearly by those closest to him. Larry was a member of Grace Fellowship Church of Shrewsbury. Besides his wife, Larry leaves his son, Larry R. DeVor, Jr., and wife, Sandy, of Baltimore MD, his two daughters, Lisa Paul, of Detroit, MI, and Lori Burns and husband, Michael, of Baltimore, MD. He also leaves his six grandchildren and several great grandchildren as well as his three brothers, Dennis DeVor, of Shrewsbury, PA, Danny DeVor, of Shrewsbury, Ronald "Buster" DeVor, of Shrewsbury and his sister, Lillian Vogtman, of Rosedale, MD. He also leaves behind a nephew, David DeVor, of Elkridge, MD., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his nine siblings. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Services and burial will be private and at convenience of the family. Because of Larry's fond love for animals, the family asks that contributions in Larry's name be offered to the York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, Pennsylvania 17406.
