Laura E. (Simmons) Heuer, of Brogue, accepted the hand of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, with her family by her side, at 9:45 pm, from Wellspan York Hospital at the age of 75. She was the loving wife of Larry K. Heuer to whom she married on August 10, 1978, celebrating 44 years together. She was born in Rhinebeck, NY on August 8, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Leomond Simmons and Edith M. (Shaw) Carpenter. Laura was a homemaker, who enjoyed sewing, bingo and taking care of her family. She was a member of Son Light Church, in Felton, PA. Laura and Larry have four children, David Carpenter, and his wife Melody of Shattuck, OK, Elke Johns and her husband Todd of Felton, Kevin Heuer and his wife Tiffany of Sarasota, FL., and Eric Heuer and his wife Jessica of Red Lion. She was the loving grandmother of Rachelle, Trevor, Autumn, Keegan, Ariyana, Chloe, Avyn and Sophia and the great grandmother of Westin, Bennett, Jackson, Lucas, and Maia. She also leaves her siblings, Marion Jacobs of Leavenworth, KS, Patricia Stottlemyer of Yoe and Robert Simmons of Plant City, FL., along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Memorial Service to Honor and Praise Laura's life will begin at 10 am on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Son Light Church, 53 Main Street, Felton, PA 17322. Family and friends are invited to extend their condolences from 9-10 am, just prior to the service at the church. Her pastor, Todd Smith, will be officiating at the service.
