Obituary

NEW OXFORD Lawrence J. Ream, 81, formerly of Felton, entered into rest after a brief illness on Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at 5:26 a.m. at Brethren Home Community in New Oxford. He was the husband of Elizabeth M. (Gracey) Ream, who entered into rest on June 4, 2004. Born in Felton on January 11, 1929, and was the son of the late Clyde F. and Annie K. (Zeigler) Ream. He was a civil engineer working for Bechtel Corporation, retiring in 1995 after more than 20 years of service. He attended the Nicarry Meeting House at the Brethren Home Community. Survived by two sons, Ronald E. Ream of York and wife, Jackie and Donald J. Ream of Boyertown and wife, Cheryl; one daughter, Brenda L. Laird of Spring Grove and husband, Terry; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Hoke of Red Lion; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Klinedinst. Viewing will be Tuesday, November 30, 2010, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Nicarry Meeting House at the Brethren Home Community, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford. Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, will be handling the arrangements. The service will follow at 10 a.m. at the Nicarry Meeting House, with the Rev. Linda S. Titzell, pastor at the Brethren Home Community will officiate.
