Obituary

Leo Milton Kane, age 70, of Felton, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Born in Riverside, CA, on December 14, 1954, he was the son of the late Leo Adam Kane and the late Anna Marie (McDonnal) Kane. He was the loving and devoted husband of the late Penny L. (Ewing) Kane; together they shared a wonderful life until her passing on November 19, 2024.

Leo dedicated many years of his life to the Cecil County Public Schools in Maryland, where he worked as a custodian and was well liked by both students and staff. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a sergeant at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico, where he was responsible for loading aircraft with explosive ordnance.

A man of simple joys, Leo found peace and happiness in tending to his aquarium, working in his garden, and, most of all, being on the water. Whether fishing or crabbing around Chincoteague and Parksley, VA, he was always at his happiest with a line in the water and the sun on his face. He was also a caring brother and a devoted uncle to his only niece, Kayla Marie Heaps, whom he loved dearly and enjoyed spoiling whenever he could.

In addition to his niece, Leo is survived by his sisters, Deanna Mary Kane and Lynn Marie Heaps, and her husband, John. He was preceded in death by his stepchildren, Maleana S. Rainer and Michael P. Mitchell.

Services for Leo will be held at the convenience of his family.
