Obituary

YORK Leonard P. Flinchbaugh, 80, entered into rest after a brief illness on Tuesday January 4, 2011, at 8:30 p.m. at his residence. He was the husband of Pauline E. (Riddle) Flinchbaugh, who entered into rest on May 21, 2008. He was born in York on May 19, 1930, and was the son of the late Paul E. and Pauline M. (Kehm) Flinchbaugh. Leonard worked for the former AAA Trucking Company of Lancaster retiring in 1985 after 20 years of service, and was a U.S. Army veteran He was a member of American Legion Post #605 in Dallastown, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9575 of Potters Mill, Yankee Club, Teamsters Local Union, and attended Christ Lutheran Church in Spry. He loved his family and had a passion for hunting and fishing. He is survived by three daughters, Debra M. Stock of York and husband, Stephen, Lenna P. Mason of York, and Roxanne Knierim and husband Mark, of Hampstead, N.C.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Emma Jane Shearer of Jacobus; and nieces and nephews. The viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2011, at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Joan M. Maruskin of Central Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Salem Union Cemetery where a flag folding ceremony by the York County Veteran Honor Guard will take place. Memorial contributions may be offered to Adams County Fish and Game Association, 955 Jack Rd, Ortanna, PA 17353; YWCA York, 320 E. Market St, York, PA 17403; or the charity of your choice.
