Lester M. Enfield, of York, went home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at 3:15 pm from Keystone House Adult Care Center, where he resided, at the age of 73. He was the son of the late Paul Rowen Enfield and Helen M (Olewiler) Enfield Olewiler and his late stepfather, Leroy E. Olewiler.
Lester was born in York Township on April 7, 1947. He attended the Milton S. Hershey School and enjoyed working with wood. Years ago he attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Red Lion. He loved cats, working with homing pigeons, cars and being with his girlfriends.
He leaves his two sisters, Judy A. Whitekettle and her husband Richard of Stevens, Kathryn E. Martin and her husband Harlan of Ephrata and a brother, Philip J. Enfield, Sr., and his companion Lynn Mundy of Felton. Lester has numerous nieces and nephews, along with aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patti J. White, and two brothers, Galen R. Enfield, and Johnny R. Enfield Melendez.
Viewing will be on Monday, March 1st, from 6-7 pm at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Lester will begin at 7 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Steven A. Schmuck, pastor of the Red Lion Bible Church officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Salam Community Cemetery.
All attending the service are asked to wear a mask and observe social distancing as required by the CDC.
