Linda J. (Flinchbaugh) Riale, of Felton, accepted the hand of her Lord and Savior as he called her name on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 8:52 am from WellSpan York Hospital at the age of 79. She was the loving wife of Robert G. Riale of Felton, to whom she was married on September 9, 1967, celebrating 55 years together.
She was born in West Manchester Township, on February 5, 1943, and was the daughter of the late N. Weldon and Esther K. (Eppley) Flinchbaugh. Linda graduated from West York High School, Class of 1961, and then attended Penn State University, graduating in 1965. She was a Home Visitor, working for the Head Start program, retiring in 2008, after 29 years of employment. She loved working with children, as both an educator and in many ways within her church. She was a Sunday School teacher and was involved with VBS as well as various activities that involved children. Linda has an amazing collection of children's literature over the years. She loves dogs and was a horse enthusiast, which involved her in dressage and was a member of the International Equestrian Organization. She was a longtime member of New Harmony Presbyterian Church and recently a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church. Linda enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
Linda and Bob have two children, Rebecca S. Dorsey and her husband Jeffrey R. of Stewartstown, and Andrew J. Riale and his wife Beth A. of Felton. She was the loving grandmother of Lily K. Martin (Alex) of Harrisburg, Daniel J. Riale of Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, CA, Grace E. Dorsey, Ethan R. Dorsey and Claire E. Dorsey, all of Stewartstown. Linda also leaves her only sister, Susan C. Peterman, and her husband Charles of Red Lion, along with nieces and nephews.
A Service of Honor and Praise for Linda will be held on Thursday, January 26th, at 11 am at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11 on Thursday. Her pastor, Rev. Doug P. Royer, will officiate. Interment will be private in New Harmony Presbyterian Cemetery.
