Linda I. (Wilhelm) McCoy, 70, entered into rest after a lengthy illness at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at Rest Haven-York. She was the wife of Glenn Allen McCoy, who entered into rest on January 28, 2010. She was born in Winterstown, on July 28, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Lloyd, Sr. and Olla (Mundis) Wilhelm. Linda was a graduate of Red Lion High School and worked at the former tack shop, The Horse of Course. Surviving are one son, Scott A. McCoy and wife, Suzanne of Reading; one daughter, Tara R. Petrilli and husband, Roger of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Shane, Shannon, Seth, and Ethan McCoy; brother, Lloyd Wilhelm, Jr. and wife, Jan of Felton; two sisters, Elda Pierpan and husband, Herb of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Sandy Wallace and husband, Bernell of Felton; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Abby. There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Family and friends are invited to extend their condolences from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, January 5, at the funeral home. A Memorial Service to Honor and Praise Linda will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. David D. Tietje, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ in Red Lion, will officiate. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. To her children, Linda was a "SUPER FUN" Mom! She loved spoiling her grandchildren and granddogs. She enjoyed working outdoors, mowing the grass using her riding mower, gardening, and she loved horses.
