Obituary

Lino J. "Lee" Vescovich, of New Holland, peacefully entered into rest at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the age of 70. Lee was the husband of Stella M. (Miller) Vescovich, with whom he shared a loving marriage since October 8, 1977.

Born on March 25, 1954, in Philadelphia, Lee was the son of Marianne E. (Steinrock) Vescovich, of Philadelphia, and the late Lino A. Vescovich. He was a proud graduate of Central High School in Philadelphia, Class of 1971, and went on to earn a degree in Civil Engineering from Penn State University in 1975. His commitment to education led him to further his studies, obtaining a master's degree in civil engineering from Villanova University in 1985.

Lee dedicated his career to public service, retiring in 2019 after serving as the Program Development & Legislative Affairs Branch Head for the U.S. Navy. While he may not have been the most skilled boat captain, he had a deep love for the water. He also found joy in playing pickle ball with Stella, biking, and, in his earlier years, playing basketball. Lee was a frequent visitor to the Elanco Library and an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Philadelphia Eagles, and Penn State athletics. He attended Trinity Church in New Holland.

Besides his wife, Stella, and his mother, Marianne, Lee also leaves behind his two sons: Michael L. Vescovich and his wife, Karissa, of Etters, and Steven E. Vescovich and his wife, Tracy, of Smyrna, Delaware. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Diana Stein, and her husband, Eric, of Downingtown; his brother, Joseph Vescovich, of Cheltenham, PA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A viewing for Lee will take place on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at Chanceford Presbyterian Church, 1784 Woodbine Road, Airville, PA 17302. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 am, officiated by Rev. Beth Appel. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Wagner-Elfner & Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lee's memory may be made to: Elanco Library, 11 Chestnut Drive, New Holland, PA 17557 (please indicate in the memo line that the donation is for Lino and for "Collections Expense for 2025") or to the Chanceford Church Cemetery Association, c/o Patty Shearer, 955 Muddy Creek Forks Road, Airvlle, PA 17302.
