Lloyd Albert Kornbau, Sr. of York entered into rest on Friday, June 11, 2010, at 2:00 a.m. at York Hospital at the age of 73.
He was born in York on March 27, 1937 and was the son of the late Lloyd Edward and Dora Rebecca ( Landis) Kornbau
Lloyd was a truck driver for the former Preston Trucking on the 151 Line as well as a member of the Teamsters Local # 430. He was a lifetime member of Salem UCC Church in Jacobus. Lloyd was a friendly person who enjoyed talking with everyone he met. He enjoyed traveling, was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by 5 children, Bonnie Munchel of Lakeland, Florida and husband William, Lloyd Abert Kornbau Jr. of Lancaster and wife Nancy, Janet Diehl of Seven Valleys and husband Alan, David Eugene Kornbau of Manchester and wife Evelyn, Deborha Miller of Spring Grove and husband, Stephen; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great grandchild on the way; 1 great great grandson; 3 sisters, Grace Gray, Naomi Falcomer, Marilyn Leiphart, Maryann Matthews, and Adalyn Eberly; 1 brother, Victor Kornbau and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Kornbau and a sister, Caroline Kornbau.
Viewings will be 6 to 8 pm. Tuesday at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion and Wednesday 9 to 10 am at Salem United Church of Christ, 24 Franklin St. Jacobus. Service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church with his pastor, Rev. Fred A Walthour officiating.
Burial will be at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens
