Lois Ann (Buckley) Shelley, of Red Lion, accepted the hand of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Mach 29, 2023, at 8:45 am from Dallastown Nursing Center at the age of 70. She is the wife of Alan L. Shelley, of Red Lion, to whom she married on September 16, 2005, celebrating 18 years together. She was born in Boston Massachusetts s, on March 19, 1953, and was the daughter of the late Edward C. and Doris T. (Knox) Buckley. She worked for Giant Food Stores in the deli department for seventeen years prior to her retirement. She was a member at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Red Lion, and she enjoyed rock climbing, and spending me at the beach. She also enjoyed horses and had previously worked at the Pimlico Racetrack in Baltimore, MD.
Lois leaves her husband, Alan and a son, David Burke of Sykesville, MD and a daughter, Amy Hamilton of OK, along with two grandsons, Wes Hamilton and Garre Hamilton. She also has a stepson, Austin L. Shelley and his wife Tara Shelley of Harbeson, DE. Sister-in-law Vicki Shelley of Fort Walton Beach, FL and her two children Elijah Shelley of Fort Walton Beach, FL., and Bryanee Jones of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Lois was the sister to Marie Riggs and her husband Bill Riggs of Seaford, DE, Edward Burke of Bethesda, MD., Kevin Burke of CA, and Robert Burke of Tampa, FL., along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service to Honor and Praise the life of Lois will begin at 10 am on Wednesday, April 5th, at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. All attending the service should meet at the entrance to the cemetery around 9:45 am. Rev. David D. Tietje, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ in Red Lion will be officiating.
