Lonny D. Flaharty, of Hanover, entered into rest at Wellspan York Hospital on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the age of 62. He was the husband of the late Patricia Ann (Kessler) Flaharty who died on December 27, 2014.

Lonny was born in York on February 1, 1962, to Carolyn M. (Smith) Flaharty and the late Dean Stuart Flaharty. He was the stepson of the late Mike Tome who died on April 22, 2024. Lonny graduated from Kennard Dale High School in 1980 and proudly served his country briefly in the Marine Corps before his honorable discharge. He enjoyed listening to music, specifically Lynard Skynyrd and Elton John, and spending time with his friends.

Besides his mother, Lonny leaves his sisters, Jodie L. Simmons and husband, David of Baltimore and Tina M. Windon and companion, Robert Lower of Felton. He will be missed by his nieces, Cindy Windon of Felton, Beth Boyd of Red Lion, his nephew, Bobby Hedrick of Yorkana, his great-nieces, Avril and Serenity Boyd, both of Red Lion, and his great-nephews, Cale Cusimano of Millersville, and Tristan Boyd of Red Lion. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Lorna Flaharty and nephew, Derrek Boyd.

A viewing for Lonny will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A funeral service officiated by the Rev. Dr. Chet Joines, retired pastor, will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Guinston Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lonny's memory may be offered to Cancer Patient Help Fund, 2500 S. George St., York, PA 17401.
