Obituary

Lowell D. Bond, of Red Lion, entered into rest on Saturday, June 6, 2021, at 11pm at his residence at the age of 79. He was the husband of Linda E. (Robinson) Bond to whom he married on October 14, 1966, celebrating 54 years together. He was born in Delta on September 3, 1941 and was the son of the late James Robert and Elva V. (White) Bond. Lowell went into the Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. He played the banjo in his earlier years, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7012 in New Freedom and a life member of the American Legion Post 605 of Dallastown. He enjoyed gardening and growing tomatoes. Lowell retired as a molding processor after many years of service with AMP, which is now known as Tyco. Lowell leaves his wife Linda and a son, Frank A. Bond of York and a daughter, Lynn M. Craley and her husband, Steven, of Dallastown, as well as his former daughter in law, Velja L. Bond, of Harrisburg. He was the loving grandfather to Jessica Bond, Brett Daugherty, Allen Bond, Alexis Bond and Austin Craley, and a great grandfather to Riley, Tristen, Ben and Evelyn. Lowell leaves a sister, Jean McKinley of York as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his jug dog, Corey. He was preceded in death by his seven siblings. A viewing will be on Wednesday, June 16th from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Lowell will begin at 10:30 am with Rev. David D. Tietje, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will take place at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military rites offered by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Lowell's family requests that all those in attendance dress casually.
