Luther S. Leiphart, 90, of Dallastown, accepted the hand of his Lord and Savior on Monday morning, October 10, 2022, at 3:20 am from his residence, be with his wife of 69 years, the late Dawn L. (Abel) Leiphart, who passed from this life to her eternal life on September15, 2022.
He was born in York County on June 13, 1932 and was the son of the late James and Hester (Leiphart) Leiphart. After graduating from high school, Luther went into the United States Army, serving his country during the Korean War. He loved to ready his bible, traveling doing Intercessory Prayer and was a former night watchman. Luther worked for Lion Metal as a maintenance supervisor and for USG.
He leaves his son, Paul S. Leiphart of Dallastown with whom he lived and a granddaughter, Sharon Leiphart. Luther was one of three children, leaving his two brothers, Jack, and Dennis Leiphart.
Family and friends are invited to share condolence during the viewing from 6-7 pm, on Thursday, October 13th, at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Luther will begin at 7 pm at the funeral home, with Rev. Katherine Seiler, a United Church of Christ pastor, officiating. Burial will be private at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens at the convenience of the family.
