Margaret "Peg" L. (Hays) Goodwin, of Windsor, entered into rest on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 5:35 PM, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 68. She was the companion of Charles V. Goodwin with whom she shared 47 years. Peg was born in York on April 18, 1953 and was the daughter of Landis and Margaret L. (Gebhart) Hays. She was a housewife and enjoyed cooking & trips to Ocean City, Maryland where she enjoyed spending time on the beach. Besides Charles, she leaves behind her grandson, Shawn Allen Zech, of Windsor, her sisters, Theresa Spangler and husband, Elmer, of Dover, Lana Hollinger and husband, Dave, of York, her brothers, Carl Hays and wife, Fern, of York, Wayne Hays and wife, Donna, of Mount Wolf, William Hays and wife, Cathy, of York, and Joe Hays and wife, Georgia, of Shiloh, along with numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Zech, who entered into rest on April 26, 2016 as well as her brother, David Hays. A viewing for Peg will be on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise will begin at 6 PM with Deacon Bernardy, of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church of Dallastown, officiating. Burial will take place at Red Lion Cemetery. For those wishing to attend the interment service, please meet at the cemetery at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 15, 2021. Contributions in memory of Peg may be offered to the York County SPCA: 3159 N.
