Margaret "Gretchen" (Rudisill) Sites, of York, entered into rest at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the age of 78 after a brief illness. She was the wife of James Glen Sites III whom she married on April 23, 1968.

Born in Columbia, South Carolina on May 25, 1946, Gretchen was the daughter of the late John Hoke Rudisill and Patricia Wallace. Gretchen was a wonderful homemaker and mother to her children. She had a deep love for cooking and took great joy in preparing meals for her family. She created a warm, loving home environment where many memories were created with her family & friends. Gretchen was a mother to many and will be deeply missed. She enjoyed going on cruises with her husband and loved to shop. Margaret was an Auxiliary member at the Dallastown American Legion Post 605

Besides her husband, Gretchen leaves her daughter, Janet S. Shaw and fiancé, John Buckmaster of York, her grandchildren, Megan P. Beals and husband, George of Del Rio, Texas, Michael D. Shaw, Jr. of York, James Glen Sites V and wife, Lily of Port Royal, Virginia, and Abigail M. Sites of King George, Virginia. She leaves her sister, Katherine "Kit" Sparger of Ladson, South Carolina, her half-brother, Tommy Fowler and wife, Susan of Gastonia, North Carolina, and her daughter-in-law, Erica L. Sites of King George, Virginia, She was preceded in death by her son, James Glen Sites IV.

Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Hospice and Community Care for the exceptional care and compassion they showed to Gretchen during this difficult time.
