Marie C. (Smith) Small, of Hanover, entered into rest at UPMC Hanover on the morning of Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at the age of 87. She is now reunited with her husband, Carl A. Small, who died on December 23, 2006.

Born in Baltimore on November 26, 1936 to the late Andrew T. and Margaret E. Smith, Marie was a devoted housewife who took pride in her garden & spending time outside tending to it. Marie was dedicated to her family & raising her children. When she wasn't outside gardening or with her boys, she found joy in simple moments such as watching TV.

Marie leaves behind her sons, Carl J. Small and wife, Elizabeth of Mt. Wolf, Edward M. Small of Spring Grove and David W. Small of Yoe. She also leaves her grandchildren, Joshua Small, Heather Ackerman and husband, Joseph "Joe" Sr., and Samantha Small as well as her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ericka, Ellie, Joseph "Joe" Jr., Cheyanne and Hanna. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Smith.

Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of family in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion is assisting the family with arrangements.
