Obituary

Marjorie "Marge" E. (Prall) Snyder, of Red Lion, went home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at her residence at the age of 98. She was the wife of the late Earl E. Snyder, Sr. , who entered into rest on March 20, 2003. They had celebrated 53 years together. Marge was born on March 21, 1920, in Larue, Springfield Township and was the daughter of the late Calvin R. and Luella Ann (McGurk) Prall. She was a graduate of Red Lion High School, Class of 1939. She was a seamstress and most of her life she worked for others cleaning homes. Margie was known for her garage sales, making hand sewn dresses for underprivileged girls in other countries and she crocheted prayer shawls for her church. She was a life member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Red Lion where she served as a former Sunday school teacher; she was part of the Women's Fellowship and assisted for 40 years in the nursery. She leaves her three sons, E. Eugene Snyder, Jr. of York, Rev. Larry A. Snyder and wife Karen of Warsaw, IL and Dennis L. Snyder and wife Rhonda of Red Lion. She was the grandmother of Marcy Royce and husband Frank, Matthew Snyder and wife Christine, Adam Snyder and wife Jill, Danielle Snyder and Fiancée Greg Forney, Angela Delp and husband Swiler and Andrew Snyder and wife Amber. She was the great grandmother of Kristen Sweitzer, Jordan Snyder, Brad Sweitzer Jr., Justin Snyder, Austin Delp, Aubrey Snyder, Ryan Snyder, Riley Snyder, Elle Snyder and C.J. Snyder and a great great grandmother of Jericho Weigand. She was preceded in death by grandson, Kevin Snyder. She leaves a brother, John S. Prall and wife Helen of FL and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Rose Ehrhart, Clara Shaffer, Lula Conroyd and 1 brother, Calvin D. Prall. Viewing will be on Wednesday, February 6th from 9:30 to 10:30 am at St. John's UCC Church, 161 N. Main Street, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Margie will begin at 10:30 am at the church, with her pastor, Rev. David D. Tietje and her son, Rev. Larry A. Snyder, officiating. Burial will be at Red Lion Cemetery. Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion is assisting with the arrangements.
