Marlyn L. Neff, of Dallastown, formerly of Red Lion, passed into the loving arms of God, on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at 7:35 pm at Hospice Seasons at Phoenixville Hospital in Philadelphia, at the age of 85. He was the husband of Arlene (Miller) Neff to whom he married on August 1, 1954, celebrating 64 years together.
Marlyn was born in Red Lion on November 13, 1933 and was the son of the late Chancie T. and Verna (Koons) Neff. He graduated from the Red Lion Area High School, Class of 1952, and after graduation, he went into the Navy, serving six years. After being discharged, he went to the former Thompson Business School. Marlyn worked as a Real Estate Agent for 16 years with Dale Realty, prior to starting his own income tax service, at his home. He was a life member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Red Lion and a member of the Red Lion Masonic Lodge # 649 Free and Accepted Masons.
Besides his wife, Arlene, he is survived by two sons, David A. Neff and wife Christina of Sweden, and Stephen E. Neff and wife Angela of Philadelphia. He was the loving grandfather of Linnea and Kai Neff of Sweden and Sabrina, Austin and Olivia Neff of Philadelphia.
Viewing will be on Saturday, January 26th, from 9-11 am at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 45 First Ave., Red Lion. Masonic Rites will be offered by the Red Lion Lodge, #649, F&AM, beginning at 10:45 am. A Service of Honor and Praise for Marlyn will begin at 11 am at the church with his pastor, Rev. Timothy A. Funk, officiating. Burial will follow at Red Lion Cemetery with full military rites offered by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion has been entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to: St. Paul's UM Church, (address listed above) or to the York Health Foundation, Parkinson's Disease, 45 Monument Road, Suite 200, York, PA 17403.
The Lord said, "My precious child, I will never leave you during your time of trial and suffering. When you see only one set of footprints, it was then, that I carried you".
