Mary E. (Godfrey) Arnold, of Wrightsville, went home with her Lord and Savior holding her hand on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 11:15 pm at her residence with family by her side at the age of 84. She was the wife of the late Richard "Dick" G. Arnold. She was born on November 4, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Norman P. and Irene (Waughtel) Godfrey. Mary was a homemaker. She enjoyed working hard, being on the farm, and spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of the Yorkana Church of the Brethren and was an adamant believer of the Lord. She and Dick have three sons, Thomas Arnold and his wife Linda of Dallastown, Mark N. Arnold of Wrightsville, John N. Arnold and his wife Rebecca of Windsor and a daughter, Gail S. Stambaugh and her husband David of York. She was the loving grandmother to Enzo, Milo and Mariella Stambaugh and Grant Wisman. Mary also leaves her two brothers, Richard Godfrey of Hanover, James Godfrey of Chanceford Twp., and her sister, Violet Harrison of Chanceford Twp., along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce I. Arnold in 1956 and her sister, Charlotte Bahn. Viewing will be on Thursday, May 20th, from 10-11 am at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Mary will begin at 11 am at the funeral home with her pastor, Rev. Paul L. Garner, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
