Melvin "Buddy" W. Keller, Jr. entered into rest after a prolonged illness on Monday, April 4, at 10:40 a.m. at York Hospital at the age of 76. He was the husband of Betty J. (Brown) Keller of Red Lion.
He was born in York on January 19, 1940, and was the son of the late Melvin W.Keller, Sr. and Rosetta M. (Wolfe) Rexroad.
Mr. Keller worked at Trenwyth Industries, retiring in 2002, and prior to that at Grinnell Anvil Industries. He was a member of the Family Worship Center in Red Lion.
Buddy is survived by his wife, Betty; his former wife, Sylvia Keller of Columbia; seven children, Deborah K. Roeting and her husband Rick of Punxsutawney, Edward E. Keller of York, Melvin W. Keller III of Columbia, Richard E. and wife Tara L. Keller of Columbia, Stephanie L. and husband Terry Dolly of Wrightsville, Charles R. and Tabby Rexroth of Windsor, and Johnathan Nispel of Red Lion; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He leaves his brother, Eugene Keller of York; multiple stepbrothers and sisters; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by a daughter, Katherine Keller; a sister, Heaster Hoover; and a brother, Chesley Rexroad.
Viewing for Buddy will be on Thursday, April 7 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. The service of Honor and Praise for him will begin at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the burial at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery. If attending, please meet there at 9:45 am.
Buddy was a family man. He loved when they all got together and played baseball games, going to picnics and playing horseshoes, drinking coffee and he loved to dance. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
