Millard H. Cox, 85, entered into eternal rest at 3:20 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013, at his residence. He was the husband of Betty Lou (Blevins) Cox whom he married on October 12, 1946. He was born in Sparta, N.C., on November 26, 1927, and was the son of the late Thurman C. and Bertie Jane (Blevins) Cox. Millard was a foreman at York Container Company, retiring in 1992 after 35 years of service, and a very active member of Norrisville United Methodist Church in White Hall, Md., since 1946. After retirement, Millard enjoyed mowing lawns for his neighbors and helping his church in Norrisville. He was an avid turkey and deer hunter and loved going to Fulton and Potter Counties with his grandsons and friends. In addition to his wife, Betty Lou, he is survived by a daughter, Sharon L. Lowe and her husband, Dr. Ross Lowe of New Park; identical twin grandsons, Todd H. and Craig H. Lowe; four great-grandchildren, Lauren, Travis, Madelyn, and Megan Lowe; a sister, Edna Maines of Poplar Grove, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dillard, who was his identical twin, Vance, Floyd, and Thurman; and by his sisters, Nina Aberts, Lou Sewell, Ruth Holmes, and Zola Martin. There will be no viewing. Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, is handling the arrangements. A memorial service to celebrate Millard's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at Norrisville United Methodist Church, 2811 Church Lane, White Hall, Md., 21161, with his pastor, the Rev. Melissa McDade, officiating. Burial will be private at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Rinely at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to Norrisville U.M.
