Miriam L. (Criswell) Kohler, age 88, formerly of Red Lion, entered into rest at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 while residing at Elmcroft of Dillsburg. She was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow W. Kohler on November 28, 1998.
Born in Red Lion on August 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Albert L. and Lydia A. (Forry) Criswell.
Miriam was an assistant office manager at Wolf Management Services retiring after 30 years of service. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Red Lion and a member of the Sunshine Birds and, later, the Four Folds Friends Sunday School Classes. She was a former member of Bethany's Administrative Board and, also, served as a Communion Steward.
Leaving to cherish her memory is her brother, George A. Criswell and wife Analee of Dillsburg, a niece, Bess Ellen Criswell of Dillsburg, a nephew, George A. B. Criswell of Viejo, CA. Step daughter, Marian Smith of Columbia, PA, two step grandchildren, Michael Daugherty and wife, Courtney and Michele Smith and many great grandchildren and great great granchildren.
Viewing will be on Wednesday, February 8th from 1-2 pm at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Miriam will begin at 2 pm at the funeral home with her pastor, Rev. Ronald L. Doverspike officiating. Burial will be at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
Miriam was a very kind and special person. She loved to do crewel needle work with wool and enjoyed spending her time reading.
