Pamela "Pam" A. Peterson June 30,1948—August 28,2016 YORK Pamela "Pam" A. (Smeltzer) Peterson, formerly of Red Lion, entered into eternal rest after a lengthy illness on Sunday, August 28th at 10:23 pm at her residence with her family by her side at the age of 68. She was the wife of Gilbert E. Peterson, Sr. of York . Pam was born in Columbia on June 30, 1948 and was the daughter of the late Russell C. and Janet M. (Reever) Smeltzer. She was a sub contractor at Lion Brothers Company in Owings Mills, MD for 8 years and then a church secretary for 5 years. She was a member of Arlington Evangelical Congregation Church in Red Lion for 25 years. In addition to her loving husband, Gilbert, she leaves to cherish her memory her two sons, R. Christopher Peterson and his wife Christina of Refton, PA,, Gilbert "Fatty" Peterson II of York and two daughters, Tracey M. Mundis of York and Mary "Liz" Stone and her husband Sean of York. Nine Grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren and a niece She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelsey Mundis in 1999 and her sister Andrea Arnold in 1991. Viewing for Pam will be on Wednesday, August 31st from 6-7 pm at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, PA. A service of Honor and Praise for Pam will begin at 7 pm at the funeral home with her pastor, Rev. Sterling I. Trimmer officiating. Pam was a very loving wife , mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She enjoyed reading, putting puzzles together, videos, collecting dolls and she especially loved dogs. God saw her getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He wrapped his arms around her and whispered, "Come to me". A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands now rest. He broke our hearts to prove to us, He only TAKES THE BEST!
