YORK Patricia E. (Smeltzer) Mitzel, 72, entered into rest after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at 10 a.m. at her residence. She was the wife of Mervin D. 'Sonny' Mitzel, Sr. of York to whom she married on February 2, 1957, just celebrating 53 years together. She was born on September 18, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Emory E. and Dorothy A. (Lake) Smeltzer. She was a homemaker, a member at Arlington EC Church in Red Lion. Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Mervin D. 'Butch' Mitzel, Jr. of Dallastown and his wife, Jane; two daughters, Dottie A. Emenheiser of Red Lion and her husband, Dennis and Kristy L. Berkheimer of Mt. Wolf and her husband, Tom; nine grandchildren, Amy, Ann, JR, Dustin, Travis, Wyatt, Logan, Lilianna and Kanen.; 12 great-grandchildren; one stepbrother , Emory Horne of Indiana; and aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Smeltzer. Viewing will be Sunday, November 28, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, and Monday from 12 to 1 p.m. at Arlington EC Church, 585 Lombard St., Red Lion. It is the request of the family that those attending please dress in casual attire. the service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the church, with her pastor, the Rev. Sterling I. Trimmer will officiate. Burial will be at Christ Chapel International Cemetery. Pat was a wonderful wife of 53 years, a loving Mother and, Grandmother who loved spending as much time as she could with her family. She enjoyed camping and beautiful flowers. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her
