Patricia R. (Wallace) Rittenhouse of Red Lion, entered into rest unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 12:37 pm at home at the age of 87 after a brave battle against pancreatic cancer. She was the wife of F. Lee Rittenhouse of Red Lion to whom she married in 1978, celebrating 40 years together. She was born in Craley on September 23, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Grant M. and Minnie M. (Zarfoss) Wallace. Pat was an artist and a homemaker. Besides her husband, Lee, she leaves her three children, Kitty E. Wilken (husband, John )of Millsboro, DE, Shane L. Burke (wife, Karen) of Stewartstown and Russ J. Burke (wife, Cheryl) of Mount Gretna, PA. Patricia also loved her children by marriage, LeAnn, Amy and Donald Rittenhouse. Patricia was a loving grandmother to Chelsea Smith (husband, Michael of Mount Gretna, Grant Burke (wife, Angela) of Drexel Hill, PA, Kari Wilken of Raleigh, NC, and Kane Burke of Stewartstown. Pat also adored her great grandchildren Hayden and Carson Smith of Mount Gretna and Reilly burke of Drexel Hill. She also leave a sister, Jean Hawkins of Red Lion; along with numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved. Patricia was preceded in death by eight other siblings. There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Family and friends are invited to extend their condolences on Monday, August 20th from 6-7 pm at the funeral home. A Memorial Service to honor and Praise Pat will begin at 7 pm with Rev. Richard Bowers, retired, of Mount Pisgah UMC, will officiate. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to the American Cancer Society, 924-N Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403. Pat was a wonderful, fun-loving mother and grandmother, who cherished her family and loved spending time with them. She was an aid tole painter, gardener, and loved to help others. Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call; I turned away and left it all. Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
