Phyllis M . (Ensminger) Heffner of Red Lion, entered into rest on Wednesday, April 11th, at 12:47 pm in Lancaster at the age of 78. She was the former wife of Dean L. Heffner of Windsor.
She was born in Red Lion on July 7, 1939 and was the daughter of the late David and Mary (Montgomery) Ensminger. Phyllis was a mail carrier retiring after many years of service and then she worked in retail sales at Books A Million. She enjoyed traveling, reading and keeping busy.
Phyllis leaves a son, Steve A. Heffner of Tumwater, WA. She was preceded in death by a son Michael L. Heffner in 1966.
There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Family and friends may extend their condolences on Thursday, April 19th from 6-7 pm at the funeral home. A Memorial Service to Honor and Praise Phyllis will begin at 7 pm with Rev. David D. Tietje, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, Red Lion, officiating. Interment will be on Friday, April. 20th at 10 am at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
Phyllis was a very kind hearted person and a very loving and caring mother. She was a friend to all she met and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
