IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Raul
Garza-Robles
July 28, 1935 – June 3, 2025
Raul Garza-Robles, age 89, of Crossroads, York County, PA, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Born in Weslaco, TX, he was the son of the late Francisco Robles Garza and Eduvijes Trevino Garza. The son of immigrants from Mexico, Raul was a testament to the American Dream. He was the youngest of 7 children and worked hard through his young years to make a good life for himself. After high school he attended Southern Texas Pan American College and later transferred to Florida State where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and science. He spent his career with NASA, at Stennis Space Center, then Kennedy Space Center and finally Goddard Space Flight Center, working as a mathematician and computer scientist on many of the nation's earth science and space programs.
Raul loved to travel, taking road trips to his bayside home in Maryland, out west to visit his son and family in Las Vegas and see the sights, and to visit family in Florida and his home state of Texas. He was never one to let grass grow under his feet and always had a new scheme or idea brewing in his head. He enjoyed puttering around, fixing things, and helping others. Full of wisdom, he freely gave his "2 cents" to anyone and everyone. Family was very important to him, and he cared deeply for them. Jovial and easy going, Raul was a hardworking, dependable, and steady presence in our lives.
He shared the last 40 years with the love and companionship of his life partner, Judy Henry. Raul is survived by his son Michael Garza-Robles and his wife Sharon, 2 grandsons Michael Raul and Gabriel; daughter Robin Garza-Robles; granddaughter Kristen and her husband Gregg, and 2 great-granddaughters Haylee and Madelyn; his extended family includes Judy's daughter Jennifer, her 2 sons, Nicholas and Michael, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Raul will be announced at a later date. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, is assisting the family with arrangements. Please leave condolences at www.wagner-elfner-burg.com.
