Obituary

RED LION Richard J. 'Log Cabin Louie' Medeiros, 68, entered into rest at 11:20 a.m. Thursday, February 3, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Livermore, Calif., on March 5, 1942, and was the son of the late Joseph and Mary J. (Branco) Medeiros. Mr. Medeiros was a fireman for 20 years, working at Lawrence Laboratory in Livermore, Calif. He visited Pennsylvania and loved the area and moved here a few years ago. He was raised in Pleasanton, Calif., and graduated from Amador High School Class of 1960. Surviving are two daughters, Cindy Houser-Ramirez of Livermore, Calif., and Bambi McGibbon of Waldorf, Md.; one sister, Mary J. Roach of Fresno, Calif.; one brother, Bob Medeiros of Folsom, Calif.; and many more beloved relatives and friends. There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. The service and burial will be private and will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family. Richard loved his dogs and three parrots. It is a request from the family that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406 or online at www.ycspca.org/donations Richard's family would like to say thank-you to everyone in the Red Lion and York areas who may have helped Richard through this difficult time.
