Richard Irvin Fears, of Red Lion, entered into rest at Wellspan York Hospital on Monday, January 29, 2024 at the age of 75. He was the husband of Jossel H. (Hortelano) Fears to whom he married on September 12, 2003.

Richard was born in Lancaster County on December 31, 1948 to the late Henry Copeland and Florence Marie (Pfautz) Fears. He was a graduate of Manheim Central High School and a proud United States Air Force Veteran. He obtained his bachelor's from York College. Richard was a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch for 38 years. A private person, Richard enjoyed traveling the world and sharing conversation over a Manhattan or a Victor's Cosmopolitan. He enjoyed good food in the company of his friends and family, spending time in his garden and had a profound appreciation for art.

Besides his loving wife, Richard leaves behind his son, Paul Sebastian Fears and wife, Stacey, of Wrightsville and his daughter, Candy Love Staub of York. He also leaves his only grandchild, Stevie Staub of York. He will be missed by his sisters, Kathy Morris of Alabama, Judy Quarltere and husband, Tony of Florida and his brother, Robin Fears and wife, Sharon of Lancaster as well as his niece and nephews.

Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion is assisting the family with arrangements.
