Ricky Lee Herbst, of Red Lion, entered into rest at Wellspan York Hospital on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at the age of 62.

Born in York on March 19, 1962, Ricky was the son of Sallie B. (Saylor) Hamberger and the late Edward W. Herbst. He was the step-son of the late Ervin L. Hamberger. Ricky was a skilled handyman in the construction industry, known for his dedication and expertise in various trades.

He will be missed by his daughters, Amanda Kile and husband, Jason, Rikki Staley and husband, Bryan, and Madison Close. He leaves his sons, Cory Herbst and wife, Jessica, and Cody Herbst and wife, Heather. He leaves his adoring grandchildren, Mayson Kile and husband, Anthony Ortiz, Maleah Kile, Malayna Kile, Mylee Kile, Ava Herbst, Aubree Herbst, Sterling Herbst, Warren Herbst, Martin Herbst, Brylee Staley, and Rylann Staley. He is survived by his sisters, Susan Bankert and husband, Wayne and Stacy Hunter and husband, Ron, as well as his brother, Edward Herbst. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Herbst and Edward's late wife, Terri. He is survived by many friends and family who will miss him dearly.

A viewing for Ricky will take place on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm with Rev. David D. Tietje of St. John's United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow the service in Cross Roads United Methodist Church Cemetery. For the funeral service, additional parking is located at Bethany Church, 121 W. Broadway, Red Lion.
