Robert Lee "Bobby" Blackburn, age 74, of Darlington, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Born in Havre de Grace, MD, on December 8, 1950, he was the son of the late Rev. Kyle Blackburn and the late Margaret Faye (Hamm) Blackburn. He shared 54 years of marriage with the love of his life, Debra Faye (Williams) Blackburn; the two were married on June 12, 1971.

Known to family and friends simply as Bobby, he was a proud U.S. Army and National Guard veteran who honorably served two tours during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he built a career as a talented carpenter, working for Caddie Homes in Hickory, MD, for many years.

Bobby's faith was central to his life. As a devoted member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Aberdeen, MD, he found joy in helping the church youth during Sunday collections. Around Christmastime, he loved gifting handmade Christmas trees he crafted from clothes hangers, a small act that reflected his generous and creative spirit.

Above all, Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was always quick to offer a helping hand to anyone in need and welcomed everyone with a warm smile. More often than not, his faithful little Pomeranian, "Princess," could be found right by his side.

In addition to his wife, Debra, Bobby will be forever cherished by his daughter, Penny Faye Hall, and her husband—his much-loved "favorite son-in-law"—Tony; his grandchildren, Cody Hall and his wife, Kayla, and Faith Hall and her companion, Patrick. He is also survived by his siblings: William Blackburn and his wife, Dawn; Rick Blackburn and his wife, Donna; Linda Dowell, wife of the late Tommy Dowell; and Virginia "Blanche" Dugan, wife of the late Joe Dugan; along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were blessed to know him.

A celebration of Bobby's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Blessed Hope Baptist Church, 1525 Mitchell Lane, Aberdeen, MD 21001, with Pastor Brad Hanks officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bobby's memory may be made to Blessed Hope Baptist Church.
