IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert L.
Leiphart
August 8, 1936 – May 28, 2025
Robert L. Leiphart, age 88, of Red Lion, passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Born in the quiet town of Craley on August 8, 1936, he was the son of the late Troy and Fannie (Kopp) Leiphart. For 43 wonderful years, he shared life's journey with his devoted wife, Gail (Huttenberger) Leiphart.
A proud 1954 graduate of Red Lion High School, Bob stood out as a gifted catcher on the baseball team—his love for the game enduring long after graduation, as he continued to play for several area senior league teams. After school, he began his professional path at Caterpillar, Inc., starting humbly as a mail boy and rising to become manager of mainframe computer programming—a reflection of his tireless work ethic and quiet brilliance.
Bob later became president of B-H Computer Systems, and with Gail by his side, co-owned J's Steaks and Subs—serving up good food and warm smiles throughout York and Lancaster. In the latter part of his career, he joined the Realtors Association of York and Adams County, where he modernized systems and mentored others with patience and insight. He retired in 2011, leaving a legacy of innovation and service.
Outside of work, Bob lived fully and simply. He found joy on the golf course, in the crash of pins at the Lion Bowl, and in the comfort of his favorite chair watching FOX News—small pleasures that filled his days with peace.
Bob's love extended beyond his accomplishments—he was a family man through and through. He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Leiphart) Dietz and her husband Daryl, and Alyssa (Leiphart) Holtzinger and her husband Jeff; stepdaughters Heather (Lenhart) Butz and April (Lenhart) Zilaiand her husband Bryan; grandchildren Derek Dietz and his wife Tina, Brycen Butz, Grace Butz, Cadence Zilai, and Brayden Zilai; and his great-grandson, Dalton Dietz.
He also leaves behind his brother, Ronald Leiphart, and his wife Sandy; along with many nieces and nephews: Denise (Leiphart) Anthony, Lisa (Leiphart) Crawford, Tina Leiphart, Stephanie (Leiphart) Stanhope, Susan (Leiphart) Atwood, Gail (Kise) Sheffer, Craig Leiphart, Todd Leiphart, Shane Leiphart, Bradley Kise, and Jeremy Weaver.
He is now reunited in peace with his siblings George, Blanche, Norman, William, Dale, Glenn, Ernest, Luella, Allen, and Geraldine.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Pastor Nathaniel Hedin-Schmidt will officiate. Interment will follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. A time to greet the family will begin at 12:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Bob's memory may consider a contribution to Hospice and Community Care at www.hospiceandcommunitycare.org or to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at www.t2t.org.
Bob Leiphart lived a life marked by love, laughter, quiet strength, and unshakable dedication. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
