IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Eugene
Lippy
December 12, 1941 – January 24, 2025
Robert "Bob" Eugene Lippy, of Dallastown, entered into rest at his home on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the age of 83. He was the husband of the late Doris J. (Pittinger) Lippy, who died on January 27, 2019.
Bob was born in Hanover on December 12, 1941, to the late Paul R. and Myrtle V. (Zepp) Lippy. After graduating from William Penn High School, he was drafted into the Army, where he served until his honorable discharge. Following his military service, Bob attended York College of Pennsylvania and earned a bachelor's degree in business management. He went on to work as a mechanical engineer at the former Teledyne McKay, later retiring from Dentsply International in 1994.
An avid golfer, Bob was known for his consistency and love of the game. In his younger years, he frequently played at Honey Run Golf Course, and more recently, he enjoyed golfing at Grandview Golf Course. He enjoyed sharing all of the details of his numerous hole-in-ones. Bob also had a passion for boating, especially on the Delaware Bay, where he spent countless hours. He was an enthusiastic saltwater fisherman, particularly fond of flounder fishing.
In addition to his love for the outdoors, Bob cherished camping trips with his wife, Doris, and they enjoyed spending their winters camping in Florida. Two of Bob's favorite travel locations were Myrtle Beach and The Delaware Seashore State Park. He also made it a priority to attend every one of his grandsons' sporting events and enjoyed browsing flea markets and attending church bazaars.
He was an active member of several local organizations, including the Prince Athletic Association, the Viking Club, the Hawk's Gunning Club, the 13th Ward Democratic Club, and the Vigilant Social Club. He was also a lifetime member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Bob leaves behind his daughter, Allison J. Christine, of Red Lion; his two grandsons, Reed W. Christine and Ross J. Christine, both of Red Lion; and his niece, Sharon L. Becker, of York. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Kathleen Schiding and Joan Burdette, and his brother, Harvey Lippy.
A viewing for Bob will take place on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, starting at 10:00 a.m. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with his pastor, Kevin T. Shively, officiating. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob's memory may be offered to the York County Veterans Honor Guard, P.O. Box 712, Mount Wolf, PA 17347, or to St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market Street, York, PA 17401.
