Obituary

Robert "Bob" E. Peters, 80, entered into eternal rest at 4:50 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014, at Misericordia Convalescent Home in York. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Ramsay) Peters. He was born in Red Lion, on July 12, 1933, and was the son of the late Emory J. and Olive J. (Sechrist) Peters. Bob successfully owned and operated his family business, Emory J. Peters Excavating and Paving, Inc. for 18 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dallastown and was a United States Army Veteran. In addition to his wife, Patricia, of Red Lion, he leaves three daughters, Deborah A. Raffensberger and her husband, Stanley of Red Lion, Cheryl L. Ericson and her husband, Robert of Lanesboro, Mass., and Kimberly L. Peters of New Kent, Va.; a son, Robert J. Peters and his wife, Donna of Windsor; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald E. Peters and his wife, Susan of Dallastown; and nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, February 25, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Bob will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Deacon Daniel L. Bernardy, of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dallastown, officiating. Burial will be in Dallastown Union Cemetery with Flag Folding ceremony presented by the York County Veteran's Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 251 E. Main St., Dallastown, PA 17313. Robert was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He and Patricia were happily married on November 17, 1956, celebrating 57 great years together. He loved traveling, spending time at the Maryland and Delaware shores, and at his cabin in the mountains. Bob enjoyed collecting watches and coins, and hunting and fishing.
