Roger Leroy Boose, 60, died from pancreatic cancer on Sunday, January 31 at 4:50 p.m. at his residence. He took his last breaths while holding his wife's hand and his son nearby. Compassionate Care Hospice was in attendance and helped him pass more comfortably.
He was the husband of Kathleen "Kelly" L. (McCarthy) Boose of Red Lion and father of Mycroft Strummer Boose.He was born in Westminster, Md. on September 19, 1955 and was the son of the late Roger A. and Violet (Mann) Boose.
Over the course of his career, he held many positions in quality departments and specialized in supplier quality issues. Most recently he worked at Gichner Shelter Systems in Dallastown. In the past he had worked at IS&S, Johnstown Weld and Fabricators, and BAE Systems. He was the ultimate quality guy who expected precision and clarity, but would take time to befriend the people with whom he worked.Many will remember him for his intelligence, encyclopedic knowledge of music, love of books and sense of humor.
Family and friends are invited to extend their condolences during a time of viewing on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. The services and burial will be 11 a.m. the next morning at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg, Md. Friends are welcome to attend.
