Obituary

Roger W. Knaub of Red Lion left this earthly life, to begin his eternal life with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 5:58 AM, from Inners Creek Nursing Home in Dallastown, at the age of 76. He was the husband of Richanda S. (Livingston) Knaub of Red Lion, to whom he married on November 20, 1971, celebrating 51 years together. He was born in Windsor on September 25, 1946, and was the son of the late Samuel L. and Helen Romaine (Oberdorff) Knaub. He was drafted into the United States Army during high school. After serving his country, he worked at Standard Register as a Material Operator, retiring after forty plus years of service in 2008. He enjoyed going to the local baseball games, bowling, horse racing, golfing (both miniature and the par 3 pitch and putt). He was raised on a farm and was very good at making sauerkraut (even winning a first-place ribbon at the York Fair), and he planted a small garden at his home that he enjoyed tending to, but spending time with his family was important to him. Roger and Richanda have two sons: Shawn T. Knaub and his wife Elaine of DeBary, FL and Cris A. Knaub and his wife Ashli of Lancaster. He was the grandfather of, Devon, Raelyn, Ryleigh, Cheyenne, Jordan and Makenzi. He was one of five children, leaving his brother, Donald J. Knaub and his spouse Thomas of York, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lamar Knaub and Lonnie Knaub. A Service of Honor and Praise for Roger will be on Wednesday, April 19th, at 10:30 am at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway. The viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the funeral home, with Rev. David D. Tietje, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ in Red Lion officiating.
