Ronald Francis Boyle, of Red Lion, passed peacefully from this earthly life to begin his eternal life with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 15, 2023 at York Hospital at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sherry May (Rollman) Boyle on March 17, 2022. Ronald and Sherry were married on September 15, 1956, celebrating 65 years together. He was born in Lancaster on December 10, 1935 and graduated from Governor Mifflin High School, class of 1954. Ron honorably served in both the Marines and Air Force, ending his military career as a Lieutenant Colonel in the USAF. He attended Grace Baptist Church in York. Ron liked to tell stories and enjoyed hiking, fishing and woodworking. He retired after 25 years from Red Lion Area School District as the Director of Buildings & Grounds. Ronald leaves his daughter, Rachel A. Caldwell and her husband, Rick, of York. He also leaves his two sons, Thomas A. Boyle and Timothy L. Boyle. Besides his wife, Ronald was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca S. Flickinger on April 15, 2020 and a grandson, Nathan Boyle. Ronald was the loving grandfather of four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A viewing will take place on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 9 to 10am at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway. A service for Ronald will begin at 10am with his family friend, Chaplain Stephen C. Weber officiating. Burial will take place in Kreutz Creek Cemetery with full Military Rites offered by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
