IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shawn Michael
Bosley
December 2, 1989 – April 12, 2025
Shawn Michael Bosley, age 35, of Red Lion, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Born in York, he was the son of his father Brian T. Bosley and his wife Tammy, and his mother Joell D. (Hillegass) Zortman and her husband Joseph.
Shawn was the devoted husband and soul mate of Amanda Jo (Bupp) Bosley. The two were married on August 17, 2013, and together shared over 2 decades of love, partnership, and the joy of raising a family.
He worked as a concrete foreman for York Excavating Company, where he was proud of the work he did and the friendships he built with his crew. He was respected and appreciated not just for his work ethic, but for his easygoing nature and sense of humor.
Shawn had a deep interest in Civil War history and was an active member of the First Maryland Cavalry, Civil War Unit – Reenactors. He enjoyed being outdoors—hunting, fishing, four-wheeling—and was a member of the Mosquito Creek Sportsmen Association. He also had a love for music and was known to jump in on karaoke nights, especially for Travis Tritt's "Where Corn Don't Grow."
His proudest role in life was being a father. Shawn deeply loved his daughters, Adalynn Mae and Sierra Jo. He was a hands-on, involved dad who was always there for his family—in fact, he delivered Sierra Jo himself during an unplanned home birth. His family meant everything to him.
Shawn will be deeply missed by many. In addition to his wife, daughters, and parents, he is survived by his brothers, Timothy Fry and his wife Danielle, and Jacob Fry and his fiancée Kaitlyn Grafton; his paternal grandparents, Herbert F. Bosley Sr. and Sally Bosley; his maternal grandparents, Paul and Donna Hillegass; his in-laws, Carolyn and Steve Bupp; sisters-in-law, Raechel Weikel and her husband Matthew, and Lauren Gorbey and her husband Nick; his stepfather, Donald Fry, and his wife Thea; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of Shawn's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Chapel Church, 3050 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion. Interment will follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, on Thursday evening from 5:00–7:00 p.m., and again on Friday morning at Chapel Church from 10:00–11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a GoFundMe at https://www.gofundme.com/f/bwwzc-support-shawns-family-in-their-time-of-loss?attribution_id=sl:3041a7cf-2485-4e20-99cc-42e5fb5339e3&lang=en_US&utm_campaign=pd_ss_icons&utm_content=amp13_c-amp15_t3&utm_medium=customer&utm_source=sms, which will help establish a trust for Shawn's daughters.
