Shirley A. (Keener) Zelger Smallbrook of Red Lion went from life to Life Eternal on Monday, March 5, 2018, at 6:10 pm at York Hospital at the age of 81. She was the wife of the late Alfred G. Zelger who entered into rest September of 1969 and Francis C. Smallbrook who entered into rest February, 2010.
Sheb was born in York on November 23, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Elwood J. and Arlene R. (Orwig) Keener. She was a lifetime member of Bethany United Methodist Church where she formerly sang in the choir. She had a vacation home in Chincoteague, VA where she enjoyed spending time. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending family time together. She was a bookkeeper at the former Warner's Moving and Storage for 40 years and also at Lion Bowl for 35 years.
Shirley was the mother to, Michael S. Zelger and his wife Lisa A. of Red Lion, David A. Zelger and his wife Stacey A. of Red Lion and Timothy W. Zelger and his wife Jami M. of Red Lion. She had five grandchildren, Justin D. Zelger and his wife Rachel R. of Stewartstown, Zachary M. Zelger, Emily N. Zelger, Alex "Beezer" Zelger and Alexander T. Zelger all of Red Lion.
There will be no viewing. Family and friends may extend their condolences on Saturday, March 10th from 10-noon at Bethany United Methodist Church, 121 W. Broadway, Red Lion, PA. A Service of Honor and Praise for Sheb will begin at noon on Saturday with her pastor, Rev. Ron Doverspike officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens at the convenience of the family at a later date. Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion will be assisting the family with the arrangements.

God looked upon his garden and saw an empty place. He then looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful for He only takes THE BEST.
