Smith H. Kilgore, of Brogue, took the hand of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at 11:55am at his home at the age of 97. He was the husband of the late Dorothy M. (Hughes) Kilgore, who entered into rest on June 4, 1988 and Althea M. (Lutz) McWilliams Kilgore who entered into rest on September 26, 2019. Smith leaves behind his two stepsons and stepdaughter, all of the Red Lion area, as well as his four step grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Jeffrey L. McWilliams, who died on June 29, 2011, as well as his three brothers, James E. Kilgore, Walter L. Kilgore and Robert C. Kilgore. Viewing will be on Monday, January 4th from 1:30 – 2 PM at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise will begin at 2 PM with his pastor, Rev. Beth E. Appel, officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at the church cemetery. Those attending the service are asked to follow the current guidelines by wearing a mask and observing the social distancing guidelines. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Smith may be offered to Chanceford Presbyterian Church at 1784 Woodbine Road, Airville, PA 17302.
