Obituary

Sterling C. Gee, of Wrightsville, entered into rest at Wellspan York Hospital on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the age of 80. He was the husband of Lori J. (Hoffmaster) Gee, whom he married on September 6, 1980.

Born in Waynesboro on September 7, 1944, Sterling was the son of the late Vernon Gerald and Alice Geneva (Eyler) Gee. He was also the stepson of the late Paul Koontz. Throughout his career, he worked as a dedicated machine operator at the former Borg Warner.

Sterling had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in hunting rabbit, squirrel, deer, and turkey. An avid fisherman, he especially enjoyed fishing for trout and catfish. He was also loved football. In addition to sports, he loved watching classic game shows, with Family Feud being a particular favorite, as well as old Western movies. Sterling will be fondly remembered for his warm and playful spirit. He had a special way of giving people a hard time in the most affectionate and humorous manner. He had an enormous heart and was known for his generosity, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. A man of strong faith, he was a dedicated member of Washington Boro Methodist Church.

Sterling is survived by his loving wife, Lori; his son, Jeffrey L. Gee, and his wife, Patty, of Waynesboro; and his grandson, Ty J. Gee, of Waynesboro. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Gee, and his wife, Jane, of Red Lion. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Jeanne Spiker and Bonnie Barry.

A private family viewing will be held, followed by a graveside service at 11:30 am at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, officiated by his pastor, Carlene Wolf. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are kindly asked to meet at the entrance of the cemetery at 11:15 am. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered in Sterling's memory to his church, Washington Boro Methodist Church, 1964 Water Street, P.O. Box 57, Washington Boro, PA 17582.
