Obituary

Tammy L. (Almony) Dowden, formerly of Union Bridge, Maryland, entered into God's Eternal Care on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2:32 am at The Gardens of West Shore in Camp Hill at the age of 57. She was born in Baltimore, MD on February 2, 1960 and was the daughter of the late Stanley and Shirley (Clinman) Almony. She was a housekeeper at the Long View Nursing Home in Manchester, MD for five years. Tammy's favorite color was purple, she loved white cheddar popcorn. She was a wild thing but loved people and could make friends with everyone she met. She was part of the church family at Uniontown Bible Church in Union Bridge, MD. She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Amy L. Green of Hagerstown, MD, Amanda L. Dowden of Red Lion, PA and Amber L. Almony of Westminster, MD. She was the doting grandmother of Lauren, Lacey and Zachary. Tammy was one of eight siblings, Elizabeth DuVall of Westminster, MD, Patricia Hill of Belair, MD, Sharon Winninger of Essex, MD, Robin Morrison of Essex, MD, Doreen "DeeDee" Smith of Dallastown, PA and Stanley "Buddy" Almony , Jr. of Delta, PA. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. Tammy was preceded in death by her sister, Katharine Stump. There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Family and Friends are invited to extend their condolences on Friday, February 2, 2018 on Tammy's birthday, for a Memorial Service of Honor and Praise at 2:30 pm. Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm until the start of the service. Brian Chapline will officiate at the service. Burial will take place at Ayers Chapel Cemetery in White Hall, MD at a later date, at the convenience of the family. Tammy was a good Mother to her children and loved her grandchildren. Spending time with family was very important to her. She was a very caring person and someone for her children to lean on when they needed to. She was very proud of all of them. If you could see me now, you wouldn't shed a tear. Though you may not understand why I'm no longer here. Remember my spirit, that's the real me. I'm still very much alive, oh if you only could see! Allow Jesus to be your guide, His word will show you the way. So please don't cry! WE WILL MEET AGAIN SOMEDAY. Until then, keep me in your heart, for I'll always be your guardian angel and we'll never be far apart. Love you all, Mom, Maw Maw, and Tammy.
