Obituary

Terry "Tobe" L. Leiphart, Sr., 61, entered into rest unexpectedly on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at 10:25 a.m. at York Hospital. He was the husband of Diane L. (Snyder) Leiphart, who entered into rest on February 13, 2011. Born in Lower Windsor Twp. on July 16, 1950, he was the son of the late Walter and Clara Mae (Reichard) Leiphart. Terry worked at Caterpillar Inc. in York for 20+ years then went to work as a fork lift operator at Tate Access Floors in Red Lion for 14 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a longtime member of St. Paul's U.M. Church in Craley, a member of the Red Lion VFW Post #1446 and the Path Valley American Legion Post #232 in Franklin County, and Craley Fish and Game. He enjoying hunting and fishing, sports and spending time in the mountains. Surviving are a son, Terry "Toby" L. Leiphart, Jr., of Yoe and his companion, Susan Morris; one granddaughter, Taryn Emily Leiphart of Mt. Wolf; one brother, Richard E. Leiphart of East Prospect; one sister, Shirley D. Resh of Windsor and her husband, Daniel; many brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews; and his very special friend and companion, Connie Fogle of Wrightsville. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary and Donald Leiphart; and one sister, Gloria Engle. There will be a viewing Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. The service will follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Patricia C. Bollinger officiating. Burial will be in Springville Cemetery in Craley with full military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to, York Health Foundation, Cancer Patient Help Fund, 912 S. George St., York, PA 17403, or to White Rose Hospice, 1412 Sixth Ave., York PA 17403. Terry was a wonderful father and grandfather who adored his very special granddaughter, Taryn. His family was important to him as was the time he spent with them, but he loved everyone and had no enemies. He was a very caring and kind person and would be available to assist anyone who needed help. He always put others needs before those of his own. He was a great friend to many and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. It is the request of the family, to honor Terry, please dress in casual attire for the service.
