Valerie J. (Barley) Rosenzweig, of Red Lion, entered into rest at Lancaster General Hospital on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at the age of 75. She was the 37 year companion of Harry W. Koontz, Sr.

Born in York on August 16, 1949, Valerie was the daughter of the late Gerald Dwight Barley and Lorna Elaine (Snyder) Flaharty. She was employed with Graham Packaging for 35 years.  After retirement, Valerie enjoyed frequenting yard sales and exploring local flea markets. She took pride in her garden and cherished spending time with her friends, engaging in long conversations on the phone, and caring for her beloved pets. She will be dearly missed by her dog, Sky.

Besides Harry, Valerie leaves her son, Sam Coeyman and partner, Barry; her step-children; granddaughter, Cheyenne Garrett and husband, Chauncey; her step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Bryan Rhodes. She was preceded in death by her son, Neil Coeyman; and her sister, Kelley Stine.

Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, is assisting the family with arrangements.
