Violet L. “Dumpy” Harrison, 86, died on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Yorkview Nursing and Rehab.

She was the wife of the late Harvey C. Harrison.

Violet was born in Chanceford Twp. on February 4, 1940, daughter of the late Norman P. and Nora Irene (Waughtel) Godfrey.

Violet was a seamstress at Tighe Industries in East Prospect for over 20 years. She was a member of Codorus Church of the Brethren. Violet had a special love for children and spent many years babysitting, caring for countless little ones as if they were her own. Her kindness, patience, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She is survived by two sons, Joel Harrison and Jeffrey Harrison and his wife, Lynette; her brother, James Godfrey and his wife, Connie; her longtime friend, Barry McSwine; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Richard, Charlotte, and Mary.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Codorus Church of the Brethren Cemetery, 1129 Dunkard Valley Road, Dallastown, with the Rev. Eric Ritenour officiating.
