Obituary

Warren M. Baublitz Hellam Township Warren "Bob" M. Baublitz died at his home after a brief illness on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. He was 91 years old. Bob was born in Rossville in 1923 and was the son of the late Lloyd S., Sr. and Valeria R. (Glatfelter) Baublitz. Bob was an inspector at Boechtel Power Corporation and was employed at Geo Construction Testing plant, retiring in 1986 after many years of service. Then he worked at Ruppert Detective Agency. He was a life member of the VFW Post 7045 in Hellam, life member of the York Rifleman Association, was a volunteer with Luther Social Services, WWII and Korean War Army Veteran stationed throughout the United States,(Fort Meade, Maryland, Miami Beach, Florida, Tyndal Field, Florida, Sheppard Field, Texas, McCook, Nebraska, Salt Lake City, Utah, and New Hampshire) and he spent time in Greenland, Iceland and England, and was a member of the Lucky Bastard's Club. Surviving him are two daughters, Sandra R.E. Baublitz of Red Lion, Kimberly E. Sheesley of Manchester; and a son, Gregory L. Baublitz of Windsor and his wife Debbie; stepchildren, Sharon Leber and Danny Boyer, both of York; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Loris "Bobbi" Fleagle of Dallastown; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rita K. Gross; two brothers, Zane and Lloyd, Jr.; stepson, David Boyer; and Bob's significant other and soulmate, Evelyn Fahringer and their beloved dog, Tippy. There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc. Family and friends may extend their condolences on Saturday, December 19 from 10 to 11 a.m., with a Memorial Service to honor Bob starting at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. His nephew, Pastor Dean Baublitz, will officiate. Burial will be in Kreutz Creek Cemetery with full military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to Keystone Wounded Warriors, P.O. Box 475, Blanden, PA 19510; or to the York Health Foundation, VNA Home Health, 50 N.
